Quality by Process
Beginning with a previously used or non-functioning unit, remanufacturing starts with full disassembly of a part down to the nuts and bolts. Each component is then meticulously renewed and tested to OE specifications, ensure the remanufactured part’s quality (performance, durability, and relatability) meets or exceeds that of a new OE part.
-
Affordable by Design
Through the remanufacturing process, we save 80% of components through renewal processing. This produces a final part that is more affordable than new.
-
Sustainable by Design
Reduce, Reuse, Reman, Recycle. By buying remanufactured products, you are reducing waste, conserving materials, and reducing energy and emission required to either recycle parts or produce new.

Building a More Sustainable Future
Through remanufacturing, we renew over 80% of components to same-as-new quality, reducing waste, conserving resources, and minimizing the environmental impact of manufacturing and recycling
Sustainability
At AEI, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword-it’s a fundamental principle that guides everything we do. The automotive and heavy-duty industries present a tremendous opportunity for sustainable practices, and we are stepping up to fill this need by providing remanufactured products that contribute to a greener future. We believe that by prioritizing environmental responsibility, we can drive positive change and create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
Remanufacturing
Remanufacturing (or Sustainable Manufacturing) is a comprehensive manufacturing process that returns a previously sold, used, or non-functional product (core) to a “same-as-new” or “better-than-new” state. Remanufacturers are required to adhere to the same international quality standards as original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
Auto Electric International
Founded in 1979 by a pioneer in sustainable manufacturing from Lucas Automotive, Auto Electric International began its journey in Southfield, MI. Initially focused on remanufacturing alternators and starters for local repair facilities, we addressed the need for parts no longer available from traditional retailers. Today, we have grown into a leader in mass remanufacturing, providing high-quality, affordable auto parts that extend product life without compromising performance or reliability.
Strategic Component Partnership
At Auto Electric International (AEI), our commitment to excellence in remanufacturing is enhanced by strategic partnerships that expand our capabilities and product offerings. One such valuable partnership is with International Automotive Trading (IAT). This collaboration ensures we have access to the best components, driving our ability to deliver superior remanufactured products with reduced lead times.
