As the engine rotates, it spins the alternator’s rotor, creating a magnetic field and generating alternating current (AC) electricity. This power is then converted internally to direct current (DC) to power various electrical systems in the car and recharge the battery.

While the battery’s main function is to initiate your car’s startup process and power electrical systems when the car is off, it lacks the capacity to sustain all electrical systems independently once the vehicle is running.
